Just as good as most 98 Brunello I've had. Round, dark pruney /berry with earthy brett that did not effect the overall taste.

Sangiovese di Romagna has growing to international attention, and this Pruno Riserva is among the protagonist of this escalade. Not an easy wine, it needs oxygen to open properly (I'm tasting from a 1 day opened bottle). 18 months in barriques/tonneaux left their touch, wine was not filtered. Impressive power of fruit and body, long finish, to much tannins limit drinkability. Great potential

All cola and currant on the nose......slightly floral. Anise and spice on mid palate. Tannins still strong but finish a bit flat. Maybe a little past its prime.

A CVed bother with no record! It’s still in excellent condition. Nice nose of autumnal leaves and ripe berries with good texture and finish. Yum.

Oh my! I bought this mature beauty 6 and a half years ago from JR and then I let it mature even more! I didn’t realize what I had laid down and I opened on spaghetti and meatball night. This wine is SPECTACULAR. I’ve never had a Sangiovese that was so beautifully integrated with floral, oak and mint and so many other flavors I can’t pinpoint. I usually find Sangiovese angular, hard and acidic. This wine is simply gorgeous. TY JR. You blew me away!

Wow! Can hardly tell its 22yrs old! Drinking like a youthful brunello. Cherry, spice, leather, and tobacco. Pnp but ran through a filter screen since there is alot of sediment. Still has plenty of life left so no rush!
