17’Dragonette Vogelzang Vineyard SB. As the years progress I’ve noticed some great SB coming out of Happy Canyon in Santa Barbara.
Somewhat racy out of the gate. Let it warm up in the glass for about 15/20 minutes.

Deep straw color.

Nose, spring flowers, bright citrus and flinty minerality.

Orange blossom, pineapple, crisp core of lemon & green apples. Nice acidity 5/10. Long finish. 250 cases made.

this wine is super serious. there are some perceptual oak tannins in here, it's almost peaty like islay scotch. oh also the mouthfeel has a lovely glycerin weight and the acid is bright as morning frost

A very "I can't believe it's California Sauvignon Blanc." Weighty rich texture reminiscent of white Bordeaux, but still light on its feet.

Celebrating our first harvest of 2015 with a taste of the same vineyard. Paired incredibly well with Guy Savoy's carrot and star anise soup recipe tonight.

This is not my typical style. Undeniably delicious. Creamy and caramel.

Exotic and singular. Papaya, fig, guava, coconut, wet rock finish. Deft use of oak. Essence of Happy Canyon.

Dragonette makes some excellent Sauvignon Blanc and the Vogelzang vineyard gives good minerality much like a Sancere

I normally enjoy this bottling, but perhaps waited too long. Nose and entry were fine, but a really harsh note on the finish derailed this for me.
