20 Year Old Tawny Porto

I often find young (“young” is relative of course) port difficult to understand. Was a nice bookend to our wine study, but the older drinkers on the table all commented how “light” it was and that it didn’t feel like a tawny port. Hmmmm.

Pale ruby/tawny - very bright to the eye and delightfully well-balanced on the nose and palate. Red plum, toffee, praline and a hint of coffee - very long finish and medium sweet with being in the least cloying. Classic style

Nutty caramel and dried fruit

Short and bitter finish, just not quite in balance.

Nutty, ripe, rich and balanced. Can't go wrong.

Seductive nose, really a standout among tawnies. Burnt sugar, caramel, dark fruit...benchmark 20 year tawny.

Rusty tawny color, no legs.
Mellow vanilla nose, hint of cherry
Alcohol is mild without overpowering, thick mouth feel with mild tannic after taste.
Aged very well. Worth the price, would rebuy

Brown sugar, vanilla, toasted almonds, nice acidity. Pure pleasure.

Dow 20. Rich dark chocolate, toasted nuts, dried currants and spice. Depth you can only find with a good deal of age.
