Dönnhoff
Höllenpfad trocken Riesling
Light and floral but in a Fluerie kind of way. Happy to see this on an otherwise overpriced restaurant wine list for 60 euros. Even my Riesling-averse wife dug it.

Aug 17th, 2020Lemon verbena and jasmine nose, a little soapy, silky and light texture, missing the RS (and acid) here.

Feb 3rd, 2020A bit shy on the nose, showing the restraint of the vintage but with classic nuances of white flowers, peaches and green apple. Minerality, alcohol and sugar are in good balance. This comes through as a leaner vintage in the Nahe, just as I have noted in my tastings of the 2016 Mosel wines so far. Stern, austere character to this wine but with good impact and ample muscle.

Mar 4th, 2018Gorgeous. A little high on the RS for a Trocken, but stellar wine all the same.
