Clos St. Jacques Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir

It needs lots of decanting and then you get thousands of layers of complexity
Quite oaky style though and you need to be a fan of that to enjoy this

Had it December 2008.
Fairly dark to be Pinot noir. Powerful!! Grand cru body and nose like!! It starts funky, pretty feral, it gets sweeter with a little time; fantastic tannin, but very present, super long. Little strawberries, huge minerality and little smoky. It needs time, a lot of time and it is also characterised by the winemaking.
