Liebenberg Federspiel Gruner Veltliner

“Screw top, drop-top”; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2024 Liebenberg pours a pale straw color with a slightly green glint and medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe tropical fruit, a bit of pepper and rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and the texture is creamy. Drink now through 2034.

Lovely, racy Federspiel from Dürnstein. Tremendously fresh pink grapefruit, lime and orchard fruit. Finishes with a taught, peppery, saline flourish. Green apples and mint showing up with air. A nicely developed Federspiel that is not lacking at all in concentration or body.

Strange undertones that take the brightness completely way from what would have been a nice Gruner

Minerals, lemongrass, gooseberry, and melon. Light but crisp.

Light nose of lemon, green apple, and grapefruit. Dry with medium high acid, medium peppery and citrusy finish. Good but not spectacular.
