Black raspberry, wild red raspberry / beautiful, dead-clear baking spice and vanilla / baked plum and something woody and fresh and some honey balsamic glaze / lush, round fruit exploding on the palate, sour against ripe, with serious but not harsh tannins and palate giving way to incense, sandalwood. . . A wine of self-aware hyperbole with sweet inflections apparent in a stupid-long finish.

Nov 21st, 20192016 vintage. This is the best Gloria I have ever tasted and quintessential Saint-Julien in this fabulous vintage. Concentrated black fruit, cigar box, floral notes and lead pencil. Margaux meets Pauillac. Powerful and elegant, layered and precise, with juicy acidity and a long mineral finish. Highly recommended. Abv. 13,5%. On release I thought it was superior to its stablemate Saint-Pierre, should try to taste them alongside again.
