70% Merlot 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Switched from beer by the pool to white wine with a shrimp boil and now (because I have to have my red) this slightly dry, smokey red is a good finish to a day spent with friends who I graduated from high school with in Iceland.

Black currant, pepper, licorice! Medium to full body, + tannin! It's not a 2009 or 2010 but do the job!

Thought we got a good deal for $16. Too bad it tasted like a cheap $2 bottle from trader joes. Old and grape juicy.

Some cinnamon from oak, very gentle tannins. Nothing wrong, but also not thoroughly complex either. Still thoroughly enjoyable though.

Deep ruby with a brick rim. Ripe fruit, black currants, deep cherry. Licorice and pepper to give it some depth. Strong and gritty tannins.
