From the limestones of this grand cru, the 2020 Gewurztraminer Furstentum Grand Cru is not heady at all; on the contrary, there is a subtle hint of honeysuckle and pink peach. This was made from vines that are about 90 years old. The concentration is spectacular; the supple generosity is utterly juicy. The peachy juiciness combines with bitter almond and orange zest, creating a mouth-watering mid-palate. The 35 g/L of residual sugar is accommodated with aplomb. Perfect Alsatian Gewurtz. Drinking 2013 in 2022, at its peak. Aromas of lychee, candied pinneapple, apricot, with a subtle tropical spritzyness almost evervescently revealing notes of peach and mango. Mouth feel is spot on perfect. Robustly letter the honeyed residual sugars and tasty melon citrus notes shine. This is everything I love about wine and one of my favorite grapes.

Medium lemon color with pronounced aromas of sweet stone fruit aromas with floral and spice notes. On the palate flavors of ripe fruits, apple, peach and citrus with notes of honey, raisins and biscuit tones adding in some generous spice. Medium body, creamy, with medium sweetness and soft fruit and sweet spice tones. Medium+ finish ending with dried fruits and perfumed honey spice.
