Cuvée Laurence Clos des Capucins Alsace Riesling

Mid Gold in colour. Unfortunately oxidised with sherry like notes sadly. Very honeyed on the palate with a ginger note. Definitely over the hill with its best days behind it. It’s always a bummer when this happens but even worse when the previous Delectable Note 149 weeks ago (say 3 years ago) the wine was singing and I gave it 95 points. On the strength of this mis-hap I need to try their premium Cuvée Saint Catherine and fingers crossed it is brilliant. The cork will be pulled later this Easter.

Beautiful and elegant expression from a top tier producer. Straw yellow in color with an acidic crispness that tantalizes the palate. Wonderful selection.

Wonderful! I am a Mosel head, but good Alsace still takes the cake for me. Weinbach is like Mercedes-Benz of Alsace (together with Trimbach and maybe even Hugel at times) — huge in size, great in quantity and most importantly consistent in high quality of production and has long and noble history. And this bottle is a great example (while atill being affordable) of all that combined and bottled in a gorgeous flute.

Another baby murdered. :) Crisp, lazer sharp acidity, on top of dense minerality and fruit. This has great potential for those who can wait.:)
