Altenbourg Alsace AOC Gewürztraminer

Perfect Alsatian Gewurtz. Drinking 2013 in 2022, at its peak. Aromas of lychee, candied pinneapple, apricot, with a subtle tropical spritzyness almost evervescently revealing notes of peach and mango. Mouth feel is spot on perfect. Robustly letter the honeyed residual sugars and tasty melon citrus notes shine. This is everything I love about wine and one of my favorite grapes.

The ultimate dumpling wine, floral and slightly sweet, so much aromatic lift

Pale lemon color with aromas of spice peach, honey, rose, and ginger. Medium acidity, dry to off dry on the palate with complex flavors of ginger, lychee, honey, beeswax and rose petal. Lovely wine with stunning length. Outstanding quality.

Incredible aromatics. This is like a perfume. Baked apple and pear, orange oil, ripe peach, dried apricot, dried pineapple and mango, mixed with some rose and lychee. Almost medium sweet. Good acidity and the intensity is just off the chart. Gorgeous!

aroma golden fruits. pear. banana. carmelized canned pineapple. chewy taste. nice balance. great taste similar to the smell. amazing

Following the slowest night at work, and so many delays on the train, I decided to pop this little guy while reading Bar Tartine's new cookbook #AlsatianSprite #Iswearitssodaofficer

Tasting with Eddy Faller: more delicate nose, roses mixed with lychees. Sweet entry in the mouth (res sugar 30gr) it’s goes round and round, smoke comes in the back of the aftertaste. After the tasting my overall opinion is that the wines are pure, salty and silky. The fat around the backbone of all the wines make them quite approachable and less nervous then their opponents from Germany. It’s an other style and that’s good four the cellar 🤣🤔

A superb wine - pale colour, light floral nose, and then a burst of ripe fruits, Turkish Delight, honeysuckle and candied ginger. Acidity is just right
