Medium Ruby with aromas of simple berry fruits and pepper spice. On the palate ripe blackberry and cherry flavors with black pepper spice. Medium finish, grippy tannins ending with some forest floor notes. Just ok.

Blind tasting night - brought by Stephen (who didn't get the Somm grid for classic varietals, lol)
Very perplexing wine - given the way it smelled and looked, I was considering Sangeovese, Grenache, and Syrah. Turns out it had Sangeovese and Syrah both in it, a long with other Corse varietals. Possible countries were possibly Spain, France, or Italy. Weird, super tannic wine, but still a nice wine.

Interesting and enjoyable. Blackberries, smoke, plum, and spice. Bright acidity and low tannins. I could see this pairing with a wide variety of foods or drinking alone.

Off putting nose-not sure if it was cucumbers or wet grass. Super dry and tannic in the end with a bit of a mustiness to it. Not sure if this is a bad bottle or what. Had the 2016 in November of 2022. Aeration helped soften things but still not a fan.

Begins very bright and fruity. Finishes a bit dusty. Maybe to much cherry for me.

Fruit forward and peppery. Medium body. The flavor profile sits between a southern Rhone and an Italian Sangiovese. Really good value.
