Domaine Thierry Mortet
Cuvee Les Charmes de Daix Pinot Noir

A bit disjointed, austere and stinky at first, but once I started eating dinner (leftovers: beef stew and white mushroom pizza) this really started to resolve and make more sense. Aromas of cherry, raspberry, musky earth and mineral, with the acid-driven palate showing notes of sour fruit and mineral. Mid-palate was slightly hollow but the finish was long and satisfying. By itself this was only an 8.4 but with food it was quite good. In this $25-30 price range I hope for both.

Ripe fruit upon opening. Things start to change with some air time. Tomato leaf.

Jan 23rd, 2023really pretty vibrant and classic nose. red cherries red currant earth and rose petals.
super light and silky on the palate. very easy drinking, smooth, delicious glass of wine. finish is a bit brief but probably needs more time to open up.

Very light and earthy like most pinots from France. No sweet notes, gets better after it breathes.
