Consistent with prior note, still tight. Seashell, lemon, fresh mint, flint smoke on the nose; palate adds kelp and melon to the mix. Has cut but also some viscosity. Overall feels very subdued right now, surely has more to give with air or time

Popped and poured; presented double-blind. The wine presents a pale straw color with a silver rim. Medium viscosity. No signs of particle or gas. On the nose, the wine expresses notes of pineapple, apricot, yellow flowers, and what I detected as ferrous minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry and elevated acidity; what I would place as medium+. Confirmed the pineapple and stone fruits which are accompanied by some lemon citrus and the aforementioned minerals. There’s a good core of fruit but the structure is hard to place in the New World so I’m in France, Burgundy, Chablis…from a quality producer…village level. Turns out…I was close. And I gotta be honest, I almost called 1er but I couldn’t easily pick out the oak treatment until I had an empty glass and there it was. Oh well…learning. Regardless, a lovely example from a warm vintage.

Quite reductive at first, sinewy and fleshy, ripe and intense lemon curd, apple and pear, smoke, mineral and marine elements, classic Chablis notes but amped. Great potential but could use some more time to harmonize

Fairly rich but still plenty of acid and chalk.

How we do apertivo hour in Ptown. Oyster shell, ocean floor, vanilla, white pepper, flinty goodness. Lemon curd, pineapple core. Was planning to hold onto this bottle for a few more years, but pretty sure it’s drinking at its peak now and sometimes delayed gratification is overrated.

Lovely chablis that unfortunatelly did not fly just yet.

What a great stage of development. 2007 vintage, just accurate fruit & seamless minerality. There's a reason why Montée du Tonnerre is the premiere of 1er Cru's.
