Gevrey-Chambertin Pinot Noir

Wednesday Wine Committee “Founder’s Day”, honoring those who started this tradition back in the ‘70s. What an incredible group and tradition they started!

I was between burgundy or Oregon Pinot. Very little acidic bite. Seemed extracted at first but burst out of the glass with potpourri and violet noted after some time. Some sandalwood, Bing cherry, currant and underripe blackberries. Surprised it was This young.

A powerful Pinot, still too young (Coravin BTG)

Strong and big structure. Very bright red fruits. Tannins are slightly bitter.

Strawberry and cherry with solid structure and tannins.

Great nose of dried cranberry, roasted beets, and fennel. Carries through on the rich palate. Structured, weighty mouthfeel.

Was not expecting much but I could not stop smelling this wine. Such a lovely nose

Fruit was a bit tired.

Blew expectations. Insane value. Consumed at 20Spot SF
