La Combelle Vin de Savoie Apremont Jacquère

As we climb the Alps for the stage 18 #tourdefrance time trial, a high acid light white with some sweetness. Not bad with fondue pasta.

This wine is kinda of seems like a blend between Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc (it is however Jacquere) melon cut grass

Weird petrol smell. Weird acid.

Purchased at South Lyndale Liquors

Smells and taste like the mountains: clean, crisp and fresh. Lots of citrus, tart green apple, wet rock and an acidic backbone. All for $15.

I’m becoming a bit of fan of jacquere. This is nice and shot through with a clear mineral vein and retains excellent freshness with crisp acid. Nothing overly fancy, but satisfying.

Sharp acidity, connected to smooth flavors like butterscotch and apricots. A remarkable achievement for a very low-priced bottle.

100% Jacquere, crisp white wine from Savoie. Great mid-week purchase from Plumpjack under $20, will def buy again. Thanks for the reco, Paul!

Light body, high acidity. Lime, a bit of chalk on the finish. Maybe some notes of fresh cut grass. A simple wine. Profile should work well with light fish or raw oysters.
