La Combelle Vin de Savoie Apremont Jacquère

As we climb the Alps for the stage 18 #tourdefrance time trial, a high acid light white with some sweetness. Not bad with fondue pasta.

This wine is kinda of seems like a blend between Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc (it is however Jacquere) melon cut grass

Weird petrol smell. Weird acid.

Pale gold color with green highlights. Aromas of white flowers, orchard fruit, fresh cut grass and citrus. Flavors of pear, melon, peach and lemon fruit along with notes of fresh basil and mint. Long mineral driven finish with elevated crisp acidity. Fresh, bright and clean. Paired well with Raclette.

Clean, crisp, fresh Jacquere. Like drinking out of a fresh mountain stream.

Smells and taste like the mountains: clean, crisp and fresh. Lots of citrus, tart green apple, wet rock and an acidic backbone. All for $15.

I’m becoming a bit of fan of jacquere. This is nice and shot through with a clear mineral vein and retains excellent freshness with crisp acid. Nothing overly fancy, but satisfying.

Sharp acidity, connected to smooth flavors like butterscotch and apricots. A remarkable achievement for a very low-priced bottle.
