Great entry level Saumur Blanc. Cidery bruised green apple and honey spritzed with tangy lemon, salt and flint, marzipan. Love how the fresh zippy citrus balances the more unctuous / oxidized elements and lifts the whole package.

Beautiful golden color with a slightly funky nose that takes some time to open up. One open, you’ll get a slightly herbal funk, with honeyed hints of golden fruits, floral notes and caramel with a hint of butterscotch. Medium bodied, slightly funky, it still maintains a bead of acidity that touches the top of the palate, with notes of tangerine, cumquat, yellow overripe apple, a slight oxidation, and a long lingering finish. It’s a great pairing for funky cheeses!

Taut acidity and rich, honeyed notes with less bruised/baked orchard fruit than I might have expected; didn’t feel terribly oxidative. Sur lie aging comes on with time and air but the wine is never lacking in tension. Excellent for the money.
