THE barbecue pairing tonight! Purple in the glass. Smoked meat, graphite hint of fennel in the nose. Dark berries, plum pit, pepper on the palate. A pleasing chewy quality. Nice lingering lifting finish.

2007 Domaine Phillipe & Vincent Jaboulet Cornas - fat texture, deep purple richness of smoke meats, dried fig, dates and black cherry. Developed nicely over 3 hours. My favorite paring with the Osso Buco tonight. Drink now or hold for another 6 years. Yum!

Deep ruby. Jammy black fruit on the nose with metallic and blood notes. Bitter chocolate. Ripe, sweet, but also fresh on the palate with a strong spine of acidity. Tannins are there but in the background.
