The nose was intense with crushed stone minerality up front, which was quickly joined by notes of fresh melon, walnut and lemon curd. On the palate, I found rich, soft textures with notes of spiced pear and smoke. It finished soft with oily textures lingering, with notes of wet stone and hints of fresh herbs, which faded faster than I would have hoped.

#v15party continues.
Lively but beaten by the Tolpuddle Chard for my taste.

Not much nose, quite closed. And it was even decanted. Must be going through a phase. But the taste is still elegant with stone, citrus, salt, just enough roundedness. Quite restrained.

Nice acidity, clean, but maybe lacked depth.

This is an odd wine. Classic if a little restrained CM nose. Good attack, thick texture, literally painful intensity and good acidity. And yet...it fades too quickly on the finish. Still, intriguing enough to try in a stronger vintage. Will look for the '14.
