Wow - this is my first experience with aged Altesse, and man - can it go the distance. Nose has some oxidative notes to be sure, but for a decade old white, this has aged very gracefully, in a controlled and complexing sort of way. Rich and full, with excellent length - excites me even more about the potential and versatility of the Altesse grape.

Almost rhoneish... sweet honeyed fruit with a slightly oxidative edge. Nice balance.

Yesss I was eager to see. This stands up to the years--the acid! That's what seems to make a 2008 from Savoie hang in. Get in. Nuance and balance yas.

Oct 23rd, 2014Opened 10 days ago. Just a bit too oxidized but after a few days in Cali bothers it settled down and be a serviceable food wine, good acidity, not much complexity, oxidation blew off.
