Les Cras Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Last couple of days drunk a feminine NSG (arnoux-Lachaux) and a masculine Chambolle. Guess which direction I like ?

Austere wine with little or no burn. Misses the elegance of a true Chambolle.

Very tight. Just wouldn’t open up. Kind of a mystery. Being a root day could be one of the reasons.

Tight at first. Opened with air. Tart cherries emerged. Forest floor. Sassafras. Fully resolved. Integrated. Happy Valentines Day.

Very seductive aromatic mix of black cherry/berry, brown spice and fresh mushrooms. Great density on the plate with a long finish.

Sassafras, smoky oak. Takes a lot of time to open up in the glass. Brightness emerges. Integrated. Advocates patience.

2007 is always a safe bet. Did not score higher because it lacked some freshness and the typical cherry I was looking for.

Aromas of red flowers and red fruit and leather with supple tannins. Needs more time in the bottle.

Corked! Why?!

Very complex and deep. Five spice and a hint of oak.
