Intriguing nose with floral, mineral and savory fruit; poached fresh berries. Also showing up is a subtle meaty Syrah-like note. The first sip reveals tremendous inner mouth florals; and a prism of bright red, purple and blue fruit appear on the palate. Caressing texture and sensuous tannins. Just ripe with a measured perception of sweetness. On the whole so lifted and elegant. The intentionality is clear; Godard is coaxing expressions of gamay that are beautiful and different than any I’ve tried before, and at a very reasonable price... for now. Very much worth seeking out.

Peonies and violets exploding with savory characteristics of roasted foul aloft light clove, blueberries, blackberries and red currant. Thank you old vine Gamay from Morgon and my first sit-down experience with Mee Godard wines. Transportive.

Serious potential here. Would love to follow her over the next few vintages.

Dried fruit, with a finish of acidity and tannin. Better day 2 tasted like a classy Italian Sangiovese.

Outstanding. Plenty of fruit and extra interesting layers.

Ruby-purple. Reticent nose of violet, cassis and granite. Smooth and silky in the mouth with dark fruit, smoke and mineral flavors. The tannins are fully integrated into a long finish.
Needs time as there is more here than is currently showing

Deep red color, almost uniform. Really changed 30-45 minutes after decanting. Would recommend a sip or two at open and then waiting. Dark, fresh red fruits but I got this great woody mineral flourish immediately following the fruit. Like on top of it. Long and noisy finish. Great stuff. Plus acidity and medium-ish body. And a chewy tannin end that just hits so well. This is a gorgeous wine. Love this cru Beaujolais. Going to (try to) sit on what I have left for a year or more...yes I had to end with a joke. Post-script: first time understanding how tannin can be “chewy”.

A great Beaujolais, a bit young and made for aging. Violet, cherry, earth on the nose. The palate is made of a strong and long acid backbone with fruits on the sides, a good grip, no real tannins but a kick in the end before a finish with violet and cherry
