This is quite something. Still (rather) young. Tremendously appealing nose-- blackberry, nutmeg, smoke-- palate still rather tight with fiery but somehow tasty tannins. Great flavor and structural density by any measure let alone Alsace pinot noir. Will decant the next one-- happy match to gamey meats.

Aptly named as it is burly. Austere. Tart. Almost no fruit. Tannic. I double decanted this. Didn’t help. Dumped it. Disappointing.
