2010 Burg strikes again. Deep, earthy and concentrated, but with the acid to balance it out.

Much less interesting then the 2018. Which I reviewed just recently. This wine is elegant with mostly red fruit, cherry (but not in your face) hint of black currant, Plenty of acidity. Touch bark. Subdued crushed marble. May be i am tasting this too young. But over all this just does not strike me as a wine which challenges my palate. Compared to the 2021 E&M‘s from Baden. This is very blah.

Dec 15th, 2023Quite nice and at ~ 50$ one of the few bargains for Burghs out there. Bright color. Raspberries and cherries. I wouldn’t stash it away just drink it very well done for what it is. Bought the last 3 bottles from Birdrock Fine Wines in La Jolla - Great Place!

Classic Beaune 1st Cru. Medicinal & earthy with great deep structure and long finish. This 2009 is showing well, but can go on for years to come!
