Wow! This is still quite youthful on the palate. Acidity is present and balancing. Nose is the only thing that belies its age.

1996. Takes a while to show itself but lovely black raspberry and truffle emerge after a few hours. Damp leaves, oak, pomegranate too. Beautiful spices on the finish.

Usually not a fan of Pommard, I wagered 2015 would yield more round fruit and counter the typical astringency. A good bet.
