A honeyed slightly oxidative nose. A little baked and hot. There’s great stuff here but it shouldn’t be this advanced. Like a lot of 05 Leflaive’s, a really frustrating wine. There’s a minty and focused core that promises real class but the premox is already hitting. Too young to drink, but it’ll probablynever make it to maturity. Given the cost, bad news.

Spectacular. Quite possibly my favorite Leflaive I've ever had. Beautiful mineral like notes with just a hint of creaminess. Fresh, bright, not a hint of Premox.

2005 Domaine Leflaive Bienvenues Batard-Montrachet. Wine charity dinner bought by H&C S, hosted at the house. Drank alongside the '06 Marcassin Vineyard Chardonnay. This was pure honey on the nose. Much deeper yellow color. More minerality. Table was split on preference. I might have preferred this one slightly.
