Domaine Le Seurre
Cuvée Classique Dry Riesling
Finger Lakes, New York, USA

A lovely Riesling that checks the boxes but doesn’t bring a ton in terms of complexity

12 October 2018; Domaine Le Seurre tasting.
Nose is tight, alcohol biased.
Palate has sweet green apple. Too young?

B- had this a second time and still too tannic and acidic for fresh rose. Seems a little off balance for a rose and compared to previous vintages. March 2017. 2015. Vintage

Mar 5th, 2017Good Eastern US Riesling from an up and coming FLX (Lake Kueka) producer. Pear, mineral and floral notes on the nose. Lemon, apricot and pear flavors with subtle petrol notes on the pallet. Very fruit forward but still dry. Better the second day after it oxidized a bit.

A standout from one of the more promising new domaines of the finger lakes. Lemon and touch of chamomile. Paired well with spicy garlic rotisserie chicken.

Very good for an east coast Reisling. Lacks the complexity of a German Reisling but has a smooth dryness that is pleasant to pair.
