Much improved from the last vintage I tasted. Loads of cranberry and black cherry, stony/chalky, plus a bit of oak spice. Nice texture and tannin. More assertive Morgon.

This did not deliver. Just seemed tired, maybe in a dumb phase.

Vigorous nose of uber-crunchy cherry/grapey fruit and a dry gravel and granite earthiness. Dry and demanding in the mouth. Very stoney and lean right now but with quiet intensity of fruit. Long finish. This needs 6-12 months at least.

First day it was tight, hard, and pure granite. Night 2 it was a lot softer and more open. Straightforward cherry candy fruit and loads of granite minerality. Lengthy and clingy. Great acids. Very nice.

Night 3 - still going strong. This wine will last longer than the typical Morgon.

Rich for a Beaujolais, gamay grape, much heavier earthier with a bright herbal quality. Dry with light tannins, almost paprika

Smells like black tea infused dirt.
With some black cherries and crushed black rock. There’s some leather musty funk as it warms/opens.
The palate is crisp, black, medium weight, just slight tannins give a lil’ tug. A nice snap of acidity on the back, dark finish after a full mouth. Deep red to black fruits, not rich, but appropriate in inner mouth weight. Long mineral finish.
With a slight cool, it’s delicious on a smokey* night. A fine example of mid tier( maybe slightly higher) vielles vignes Morgon.
Thanks@ Garagiste

N: black cherry, raspberry, white pepper, a little game
B: + a little blackberry, bramble, and just the right amount of funk

Fresh & enticing on the nose with dark cherries, a touch of undergrowth, a spicy whiff and a rocky, mineral streak. So fresh.
On the palate this is fruit forward with dark cherry, mulberry and huckleberry and with austere minerality at the same time. Focused & precise. And crunchy fresh.
This is very food friendly and deliciously drinkable. A brilliant Gamay.
