Les Champs Fulliots Monthelie 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Oh this is glorious I am gaga over 2021 red burgs. All bangers all the time. Deep aromas of early to mid season cherry, spices and lots of. dried rocks like limestone. Big time limestone. This is ultra transparent. Some fresh pink rose petals as well. Wow. What a palate. Nimble and ultra refined but substantial tannins. Wow this is fantastic. Palate is all early to mid season cherry fruit with silky and furry tannins. So juicy. Needs air but it is all there.

Now after air the nose is an intoxicating perfume of roses and early season cherry. Stunning palate with gorgeous sweet fruit and so linear. 9.3 to 9.4.

lovely and deeply fruited nose but also very mineral under all that. Juicy and super concentrated, silky and sweet but youngest of all the wines and very very mineral finish. Needs maybe 3-7 years. very delicate

Just so lithe, floral and ethereal. Amazing wine. 21 is my favorite red burg vintage.

Stunning wine and 2019 is a banner year for Cote de Beaune. And Monthelie. Deep red fruits and cooling blue fruits on the nose and terrific amplitude on the palate. Rich, silky red and blue fruits. Loads of berry and cherry and super crystalline. Super fresh and intense tiny berry fruit and fantastic sapidity. Wonderful stuff.

Killer stuff here and a bit more substantial than the Sur la Velle. Nose is deep mid season cherries, expansive and deep. Huge limestone base and awesome sap and purity. Really deep but also lifted but more dense than the Sur la Velle. Palate is bright, high acid and fresh. Lovely early to mid season cherries and sweet/tart tannins. Seems more backwards than sur la velle but also has more upside with air. Will be back.

Wow. What a stunning wine. Big big cherry, so evocative. Amazing aromas. Lifted, bright and with so much depth. Amazing cherry flower. Just insane. Tree bark. Smells like elite Volnay with the rustic edge of Monthelie. This is a great wine. What a palate. Juicy, complex and sweet. Licorice on the nose. Stunning palate. In great burgundy vintages people who can’t afford the better wines really have alot of options at Fass Selections. What a wine!!! 9.45!!

2017 is so so good for Monthelie. Terrific and spicy nose of sour cherries and mid season cherries. Huge licorice. Poised and focused. Gobs of earth and minerals. Juicy, clean and energetic. There is significant structure and purity. Lovely dusty but substantial tannins. Such laser focus and accessible giving 17 mid season cherry fruit. Really saps out on the finish. Long.

@Delectable Wine this is same wane but Pinot Noir. Stunning nose. Very refined. So elegant. Gorgeous nose of pitch perfect mid season cherries. Some black cherry as well with terrific minerality. Raspberry. Almost a jelly like aroma. But so pure. And that minerality. Spectacular fruit and grip. Amazing sweetness and sap. Long, refined and so elegant but has that Monthelie intensity and charm. This is terrific. Laurent really killed it in 2018. Awesome concentration and freshness. God the fruit is insane in 2018. Terrific inner mouth aromas. Wow. This is so good.

Do NOT Pop and pour. Needs an hour decant. Honestly needs 2 years.

Nose: dense cherry fruit with some cherry licorice. Still integrating the oak. Not over the top but present. The true aromatics flit in and out.

Palate dense structured cherry fruit.

I’m guessing that this will be VERY good in 2 years. Maybe 9.4ish.
