Meursault-Genevrières 1er Cru Chardonnay

You know you’re drinking Meursault from the first sip with the chalky minerality and saline. The body is round, thick & waxy. Green apple w/ plenty of skin, lime zest, lemon, tropical melons, grapefruit & white stone fruits. Some honey notes, crumbled chalk, sea fossils, sea spray, limestone marl, mid white spice, honey notes, white field of spring flowers with greens, round, rainfall acidity and a round, lush, well balanced, elegant finish that lasts two-minutes falling on minerality, excellent white spice and soft used barrel notes.

Yummy! A touch ripe with quince, tangerine and kumquat on the nose. Expansive yet defined palate and a long finish. Very meursault and shows genevrieres climat nicely. This producer is pretty high in my book these days

Stephen Tanzer nailed the description of this wine. My first reaction was simply, "This wine is fucking good."

Limpid rock pools and lemon confit. Great meursault attack: bright, floral, sharp-edged. Good structure and definition and excellent acidity.

Light and lemony. Green apples and salinity. Bright with good acid.

Real purity and polish on this. A nose of preserved lemon and white flowers. Real power and persistence on the mid palate with suave and intense citrus, a hint of honey and lovely bracing acidity.
