Cool name, cool label. Very dark color. Smells like bark and cigar boxes (and maybe cigars). Plus a baked berry thing. Classic Franc flavors with drying tannins, tobacco leaf and some capsicum action. Little olive too. And cassis. Plenty of black currants. Smoother finish. That’s the only missing element. A complex, long lasting finish. But this is great value and tasty Franc fo sure!

Nice, dry, mineral flavors. A little less rich than I prefer, but nice for the price

Decanted in my glass for 30 minutes. Nose: bright raspberry. Blackberry and some subtle green herb. Strawberry jelly. Mild nose but promising. Taste: lightweight, a little bitter and astringent “one note”, herbal and vegetal. Not bad if you want a simple dry red wine that doesn’t taste cheap. Probably worth the $8 I paid. 85. EDIT: BETTER ON THE SECOND DAY. Maybe decant a lot? Still simple, but softer, which in this case is better. Would have scored a bit higher - so I’ll raise to 86.
