Domaine Lafouge (Jean et Gilles Lafouge)
Les Boutonniers Auxey-Duresses Chardonnay
A lot of acidity cutting through the oak and fruit. Some chalky minerality too.

Nov 26th, 2021Apricot, pear, strawberry. Slightly tropical (banana, coconut) Gentle roundness from malo fermentation. Would like to see more acid especially from this vintage (2014). Lower acid leads to the impression that it's watered down The comparison to Roulot is justified and I look forward to seeing more from this young producer.

Jan 29th, 2017This shows good acid & mineral tension. It is surprisingly lush on the palate as it takes on air & weight. Enjoyable and a great reminder of a region in Burgundy that I know very little about. As always so much to always learn about wine.
