Domaine Karydas
Naoussa Xinomavro
Meaty, iodine, & red currant on the nose. Palate much more opulent than expected. Different but slightly less enjoyable than the Thymiopoulos.

Oct 25th, 2018Big, buxom, cultured. Dark plummy fruit, cocoa, leather, a big boy with some structure, kinda like Bordeaux if it went to Barry’s boot camp

4 people found it helpfulSep 6th, 2014Over 20 years ago Konstantinos Karydas established Karydas Estate in Ano Gastra, a well-known grape-growing region in Naoussa. Xinomavro (pronounced ksee-NO-mah-vro) is the noblest red variety grown in Greece. Medium Garnet with aromas of red fruits and spice. On the palate dried red fruit, cherry, cinnamon and oak flavors. Rustic tannins, good acidity balance on a medium finish ending with earthy spices. Wine beginning to show some age. Tasting Sample.
