Crimson-black in glass with dark brick rim. Brief decant. So gamey, wild berries on the nose, but very alive game; on palate quite seamless tannins but that ferocious- ness is in every sip. More of those red fruits but beef jerky too. Dark blood, juicy. The delicate structure of an aged Nebbiolo, with rose petal accents, meets a Bandol, covered in horse dung. Fascinating experience as hadn’t had an aged Rotie…ever?

One of the most unique wines I've known. Initial hay & barn smell, then very floral: lavender, dried potpourri, green peppercorn, savory notes--like peppered bacon. Mild, yet persistent tannins. Very long finish of stone-crushed violets. I think too much, but no denying, there is a lot to think about with this wine. =)

Drunk cold with tacos. In a good place though not a ton of acid and structure. Continue to love 11 in the northern rhone. Not on the level of the tupin tho a few months ago
