Crimson-black in glass with dark brick rim. Brief decant. So gamey, wild berries on the nose, but very alive game; on palate quite seamless tannins but that ferocious- ness is in every sip. More of those red fruits but beef jerky too. Dark blood, juicy. The delicate structure of an aged Nebbiolo, with rose petal accents, meets a Bandol, covered in horse dung. Fascinating experience as hadn’t had an aged Rotie…ever?

Rotie, but make it natty. Good but not profound, a little evolved. Don’t think it will improve much

This producer is making such incredible, beautiful, thought inducing wines. Just a thing of beauty.

Just stupid good. What aromas. Violet, super pastille and huge red berries. Lilacs. Granite. So pure. Stunning. Lifting. Insane palate of some of the purest fruit one will ever encounter in Côte Rotie. Stunning depth, sap and purity. Wow. Amazing. So balanced. So pure. So clean. Genius.

Have you heard? 2015 in the Northern Rhone is lights out bonkers? This is Day 2 and this wine is SILLY good. It's clownish good. Nose is like 10 Cote Rotie bottles concentrated into 1. So intense and deep and full and bursting with fruit. Spice and wowza floral. Olive, game, jambon, other charcuterie, so complex it's not even real. There is serious granitic cut here in the background of the nose. Amazing nose. God 2015 in Cote-Rotie is insane. Palate is a bit tight and structured with noble tannins and everything is just in its little perfect place. Nimble and finesse driven and a baby but this was a fun baby kill.
