It’s a wine, where if I had tasted it 3yrs younger, I’d have said it needs another 20yr in bottle to be approachable. But now, I think this 2013 is way over the hill at 7yrs. Baked, extracted, chewy tannins clinging to the glass, pour one. Sun dried black olive, Mediterranean herbs. Liver, port. Charcoal.

Oct 2nd, 2020Way too much Brett here, obscuring what is obviously beautifully fragrant fruit and some cinnamony spice. Good density, nice tannin, and nice balance are apparent.
