Domaine Jamet
Côte Brune Côte-Rôtie Syrah
The ‘97 Jamet Côte Brune was hauntingly good captivating us all with its kaleidoscope array of aromas. Coal smoke, tar, bacon fat and scorched earth. Ethereal palate with so much depth, complexity and focused acidity. Very long finish. Ridiculously good for the vintage and definitely the best red of the evening. Jamet Côte Brune with age is the truth.

Jun 22nd, 2018Greatest bottle of Jamet I’ve had in a long time.
I don’t have much experience with the 2000 vintage. I don’t recall it being so utterly spectacular as this bottle. The only other Jamet that has come close in terms of pleasure is the 1995. But whereas that vintage is characterized by beauty, elegance and bright red fruit, the 2000 was all iron, blood, dark fruit, and savage energy.

This is going to be a showstopper. Needs A LOT of time. Incredible concentration and it shut down after about 2.5 hours open. Tons of texture...
