Le Haut-Lieu Franc de Pied Vouvray Chenin Blanc

Waxey, almonds, mineral, honeycomb, wet wool, elegant and haunting aromas. Smells like if Chenin was a breakfast cereal. Super concentration, typical weird Chenin crap, pure, elegant and super mineral. Intense structure and i’m blinded by the minerality. Wow. Needs air. And maybe a few days open.

With 5 hours air this showed the tell tale signs of premature oxidation. Down from a 9.4 to an 8.5.

Saline, marzipan, golden delicious apple, pretty white flowers, beeswax. Perfectly textured. Searing acidity.

Great intensity but tight and not giving much at the moment. Focused, lemony, mineral, steel. Structured and incredibly concentrated on the palate. Tremendous balance and energy. Hold and wait in excitement!

Awesome wine. Wet wool, honey’d fruit and screaming acidity.

Curried eggplant, and whatever else remained in the fridge, over bulgar. Greater refinement and length than the regular Le Haut-Lieu.

This is good. More delicate than the "regular", but also more haunting.

Scary good. Ungrafted vines and a soulful wine. Balanced, generous, supple. Effortless pleasure. Made with magic.

Dominating acidity pushes away all other possible tastes….
