Le Haut-Lieu Demi-Sec Vouvray Chenin Blanc

A summer day with friends spent near Red Hook, NY, harvesting the great bounty there. I forgot to snap a photo of bottle so had to rely on Delectable. This Huet Is generous young, given its rs I imagine. All about texture & balance, & that precision chenin blanc flavor ( as opposed to a broader profile with Chenins lower on totem pole). Enjoyed with roasted Sashito peppers, local sausage to start, then local beef burgers & rock fish cooked ‘en papillot’ w a cayenne butter sauce. Then off for a few swims in the local lake.

Perhaps a little 1D but plenty of fruit concentration and acid, check in in another 5.

Huet is one of my favorites. So reliably good. Lovely paired with haddock this evening.

Could still use a few years to come together but pretty tasty at the moment

For a sweet Thanksgiving

Mom likes is a lot; Dad likes it, too.

Balanced standard bearer for this style of vouvray. Light color, cucumber/melon rind, restrained tropical fruit undertones. Acid pre-finish that balances the residual sugar. Finish will improve w age.
