First time trying a sparkling chenin, and this producer obviously makes this a safe place to start.

Golden in the glass. Appears to be slightly oxidized. Aromatically, this is apples and pears all day. Reminds me of spiced apple cider from the holidays. Ripe golden delicious apples mixed with cinnamon and holiday spices alongside those Harry & David pears you get in gift baskets. Undoubtedly chenin Blanc on the palate with sharp bubbles, and a mineral driven backbone...slate and limestone. As it warms, it gains a slightly waxy trait to it and drinks like a straight up non-sparkling chenin. Unique. Paired perfectly with sushi.

Wow. Hard to describe, but so delicious. Some citrus, grapefruit, apricot, chalk, zest and marzipan. This is juicy, but not fruity. VERY mineral, really focused minerality. Can’t wait to see how this develops. Terroir speaking very clearly here.

somehow I ended up with 6 of these en magnum. This was first. Gotta say I much prefer Champagne. Chenin blanc not my thing.

A striking gold color in the glass. Bubbles are sparse and medium sized. A good bit of creaminess. The nose starts off austere but soon becomes more giving and rewarding. Quince and white flowers initially. Tasty pastries, apricot, and just a bit of herbs.

Pure Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley. Quite zippy and buoyant with a nice mouthfeel. Biodynamic. Just the right amount of sweetness, not too cloying. Acidic and food friendly. Plenty of citrus fruits on the palate with a touch of mushroom. You can’t divorce a wine from its price, which makes this all time go out and get this value.
