Les Chatelots Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir

Cherries, vanilla, potpourri, spice and a bit of smoke on the nose. Palate still has a bit of oak sheen initially then opens up and integrates after a couple hours of air, dominated by tart red fruit (cherry, pomegranate, and framed by wood smoke, clove, licorice, dried leaves, and a slightly astringent finish that makes the palate water. Elegant, very chambolle, plenty of structure for the long haul

Notes consistent with prior. Bright garnet, sappy and a bit astringent, red cherry, red currant, black plum, a bit of smoke, violets, would be great with grilled gamebird

Elegant. Smooth, sappy texture. Cherries, hibiscus, soil, touch of pleasing stemmy bitterness.

Lovely intensity of fruit, some solid earthy 2° characters- excellent burg

Not as good as expected. Darker fruit, tobacco, and tart blackberry and rhubarb.

Turned the corner! Still grippy but aromatics are perfect this bottle was sweet and tart and classic barthod

Needs a decade to round out.

Boy do I love Ghislaine! Never a dull moment.
