Maison Rouge Côte-Rôtie Syrah

100% Syrah. Gorgeous nose. Floral. Sick. Sick. Long finish. Dense and so pure. So feminine. This is ridiculous. Stunning.

Needed a moment to open up, but once done it was shining, classic black pepper, muted dark flowers indicative of the age, fine tannins, it has another 10yrs in it.

These recent vintages that are too hot and too rich to our taste.
That being said the wine is done in a classical style and is truly excellent. Would be several points above in a normal year (if those exist still…)

Amazing! After a few hours in the decanter the perfume harmonized with a light but plush and velvet texture. Dark fruited and very pretty, a beautiful expression with no Viognier! WOTN!
