Since my new Dish Mag arrived, I’ve been getting creative in the kitchen a bit! This ‘Figure Libre Freestyle’ 2014 white blend from Gayda was teamed up with Moroccan chermoula fish and Israeli couscous. I really liked how on the back label of the wine they had the breakdown of the blend.

It’s a creamy yellow colour in the glass. Notes of buttered corn, melon freshness and apple pie 🍎🥧 come through on the nose for me. While in the mouth it has a soft plush texture, juicy pickled pears and a hint of grapefruit zest. Great match to the chermoula spices.

I want to love this wine, but it just falls a bit short.. Med to meh body.. Lacklustre acidity.. Fruits and florals are trying.. The Chenin and Maccabeo are prominent
