Domaine François Raveneau
Vaillons Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay
A light gold edged hue- a touch of oxidation and not as fresh as the 15 montee alongside. Great minerality and focus. A touch of spice and corn. Very poised. Very good- yum

Dec 28th, 2023Gorgeous stuff. Poised with limestone and soft orchard fruit, salinity. Still quite primary with real definition and thrust. Fantastic stuff. So balanced and pure

May 27th, 2023A delicious yet restrained nose. Slate, limestone, lime. On the palate refreshing and crisp. Defined and balanced. Very good though I think a little reticent right now

Dec 20th, 2020This was really delicious. Racy, stone fruits with a vein of chalky minerals supporting it all with aplomb. Outstanding if only the price could make this gem more accessible.

Sep 19th, 2021I think I may be rating this higher than it should be, but for a chardy to hold its ground against some of the world's best riesling... That's a great feat. Only Rav... Only Rav...
NB: Blinded against the 17' G-Max and 15' Hubacker. Guess it helps that Vaillon tends to be the more "finessed" plot for Raveneau, if that even makes sense 🤣
