The 2010 Montée de Tonnerre pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, this is an absolute powerhouse; sizzling with energy, tropical and orchard fruit: passionfruit, tangerine, green apple, crushed seashell, lemon curd and chalky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and full of minerals. A supercharger of a Chablis. Tonight, this was truly sensational and an experience I won’t soon forget. Drink now through 2040.

A gorgeous limpid nose of oyster shells, delicate citrus and a splash of seashore salinity. As it develops there’s a note of stone fruit and a great understated power. Beautiful clarity and precision and length. This is a light yet profound wine. Classic Raveneau.

Pretty much at a perfect point; intensely fragrant of honeysuckle and lime blossom, elegant, supple and satiny, flinty tart apple fruit with exotic Thai lime and kumquat notes, super long shimmery finish. One of those bottles you wish had no end.

Nov 2nd, 2019A beautiful limpid nose of oyster shells, soft lime, white flowers, limestone. Very pure and focussed on the palate. Soft edges and delicate citrus, but there’s heft underneath this. Very transparent and balanced. Fantastic stuff.

Sep 8th, 2019This has real presence. Lemon oil, honeysuckle, a whiff of honey on the nose. A bigger midpalate than the 08. With time in the glass limestone and rock pools come through- a great tension between minerality and fruit. This is fleshy, pure and exotic next to the 08 bug is all in great balance. Drinking well now. Gorgeous.

Lemon, bergamot, dried tangerine, green apple, green pear, hazelnut, white tea, green tropical note, slight nutmeg, slight butter scotch, sea salt spray, medium plus acidity. Amazing!!!
