La Grande Rue Grand Cru Monopole Pinot Noir

Had some funk that blew off to show a nice wine underneath.

I can’t get past the decomposing rodent on the nose and harsh tannin on the palate, quite disappointing.

I had mixed luck with this wine, but this is a great bottle. Dark red, medium+ body. Dark red fruit, leather and cigar box. Medium+ body, great balance. Absolutely delicious.

Back in LA! Which means back to my cellar! This wine had a better showing than last time. Red and dark fruit, with cigar box and an overall rustic feel. Good acidity and overall tension. Balanced body and long finish. That being said I much prefer the recent vintages of La Grande Rue, as they are more balanced in my opinion.

A slight tangy spearmint on the nose. A separated thing. Off a bit I think

Incredible depth of flavor and clarity. Genuine poise. Very, very, very good. Really beautiful. Consommé burgundy
