Clos des Cortons Faiveley Monopole Grand Cru Pinot Noir

A sublime wine, showing depth and complexity and what appears to be a lovely dose of Cote Rotie. Remarkably youthful given its 97 years of age.

2008 and sexy as hell. Lovely texture. Soft and silky. Plush but very focused. Long flavours of red fruits, mushrooms and dried herbs. Great on its own but with food it was so, so fine. Delicious GC Burg.

Lovely Corton. Balanced with good fruit.

Still somewhat tight, but a very nice wine.

2001, pure elegant pleasure, this grand Cru Monopole is showing beautifully and still has miles to go . The wine had a deep ruby color, with light touch of orange, the nose is complex and rich, dry leaves, coffee, dry plums, wert soil, mushrooms, dry cherries, a touch of animality, full body, with firm tannins, rich and complex, long luxurious finish. My score 92, drink to 2025

08. Looking sublime. Oak fruit and fine tannin. Still got lovely acid here. Long and fine. Superb

Cooked fruit on the nose, notes of plum. Cloves, and plum persist on the palate. Over extracted from a winemaking standpoint.

Still like the newer vintages better
