not always into southern rhone, but this is mighty tasty, especially for $20.

Quite dark color, nearly opaque, still quite amazing for a 16-year-old CdRV (Lirac), great redfruits and darkfruits, I cannot forecast how long this bottling will last (you can see the cepage in the picture), but the l’Astrolabe bottling (100% Syrah) has already shown it’s easy longevity. Biodynamic, the late Philippe Cambie and Philippe Faure-Brac (2022, Best Sommelier in the World, consulted on this wine.

[60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvedre] Even at age 16, this super opaque Lirac rouge shows deep dark fruits, smoke, complexity, balance and length, along with significant sediment, very fine!!

This is light years better now than the last bottle a few years ago.

I personally really liked this Rhone blend; probably because I like lighter bodied reds. It's very fruity and lacks much complexity, but still not a bad bottle.

Domaine DuSeigneur, "Odyssée" 2011, AOP Lirac, biodynamie, grenache 80% et syrah 20%... Équilibré, riche, souple, gourmand à souhait. Un régal ! Carafer une heure minimum.

Not Abby's favorite! Too much fruit. I thought paired ok with skirt steak, definitely smooth and round with fruit for a rhone.
