Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe
La Crau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend
2008 is probably as good as it will ever be at this point. Very solid. Good structure, herbaceous. Shows what a good winemaker can do in a so so year.

Jul 4th, 2015What a great bottle wine. At first it smelled like a sausage factory (which I love) but as it opened the Grenache aromas emerged to invoke kumquat or candied grape fruit. Combined with rounded, velvety tannins. So good.

Feb 20th, 2015375 mL. Totally shut down on day 1 and doing nothing. The next day reveals some red fruit, woodsy earth and spice, licorice, and tea. Remains slightly astringent and hot. Very densely colored and tightly wound. May be before its time.
