Banyuls Rimage

Beautiful nearly 35 year old Banyuls Rimage from Dr. Parce, this old vine (mostly) Grenache is a fortified dessert wine (17.5% ABV) that pairs perfectly with my wife’s chocolate pate w/raspberry sauce!! The Banyuls is a tad less sweet than a comparable Port of similar age, and thus provides (for me) a better contrast with moderately sweet chocolate pate. Long finish, terrific pairing.

Gorgeous mature Banyuls Rimage from Dr. Parce, balanced, rich, lovely sweetness, very long finish, paired perfectly with my wife’s chocolate pate!!

Side by side rouge and blanc. Unfortunately rouge was a bit tired with thick sediment.

Time didn’t do this guy any favors. Cork was shot. Maybe a bit of sweet balsamic going on. Worth a shot.
